Daleville bake sale

DALEVILLE -- The Daleville Junior-Senior High School National Honor Society will have a bake sale today (March 4) and Friday, March 5, during lunch in the cafeteria, according to daily announcements.

Parents Night Out

DALEVILLE -- Daleville Elementary School will have Parents Night Out 5-9 p.m. Friday, March 5.

The cost is $5 for the first child in a family and $1 for each additional child, payable at the door.

Snacks and a drink will be provided.

Elementary Family Night

MUNCIE -- Heritage Hall Christian School will have its Elementary Family Night, complete with a Tic Tac Toe Challenge, 6-8 p.m. March 12.

The event is intended to give participants a chance to connect with other parents, students and faculty at the school through an evening of fun, food, and friendly competition.

This event replaces an enrollment program that was originally planned for March 9.

DES talent show

DALEVILLE -- Daleville Elementary School's annual talent show will be at 1 p.m. March 19.

Auditions will be 3-4:30 p.m. March 12 in the music room and primary commons area. Any students in grades 4, 5 or 6 may audition for a solo or group act. Talents may include singing, instrumental music, dancing, comedy or any other act.

Book fair volunteers

DALEVILLE -- Volunteers are needed to help staff the book fair at Daleville Elementary School the week of March 15-19. Many time slots are available during the school day.

To schedule a time, call Diana Schlegel, 378-0251, or Mary Smith, 215-4820. Volunteers must have limited criminal history reports on file.

Math, science awards

INDIANAPOLIS -- Applications are being accepted for the 2010 Hoosier High School Math and Science Awards.

This marks the third year for the awards, which Gov. Mitch Daniels created to recognize Indiana's top high school math and science talent.

All Indiana high school students are eligible to receive the award and can apply online. Nominations from teachers, principals and other school staff members also will be accepted. Application criteria includes SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement scores, awards and prizes as well as grades received in math and science courses.
