• Johnny Malloy's Sports Pub in Estero is gearing up for a St. Patrick's Day blowout starting at 1 p.m. March 17.

Owner Gary Patel expects 3,000-4,000 people. Free shuttles will run from FGCU and Germain Arena to the restaurant every 15 minutes between 1 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Celtic Stew will play from 1-4 p.m., bagpipers from 5-6 p.m., Head Count rock band from 6-9 p.m. and Drunk Monkeys alternative indie band from 9-midnight.

The green beer will flow. "We're going to have two beer trucks outside. We're going to have four bars outside," Patel said.

"The special for the day is going to be corned beef and cabbage."

Irish Car Bombs made with Guinness stout, Bailey's Irish cream and Jameson Irish whiskey will be $5 all day.

Event tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. The pub is located at 21253 Stoneybrook Golf Drive, Estero, and the number is 947-0222.

• The Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track will have live Irish music from noon-3 p.m. March 17. The show features musicians Gerry Forde and Jimmy Joyce. Forde, a native of Galway, Ireland, has performed in the Southwest Florida market for a decade and annually stages multiple shows on St. Patrick's Day. Joyce is a native of Canada.

Everyone wearing green will be admitted free. The afternoon celebration features a contest for the best Irish-dressed patron, a dance contest and prize giveaways. Corned beef and cabbage lunch platters will be sold for $7.95.

• Beef 'O' Brady's in Estero will celebrate its eighth St. Patrick's Day from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. March 17.

Homemade corned beef and cabbage will be sold for $9.99 and 17-ounce draft beers for $3.17 (you get to keep the cup that turns green).

From 4-7 p.m., kids will get free hot dogs and chips and temporary tattoos.

Irish music will be played throughout the day, and beads and trinkets will be given away.

"It's our biggest day of the year," said owner Peter Ennis, who is preparing for hundreds of guests with additional seating outdoors.

• Lansdowne Street is throwing an outdoor St. Patrick's Day Block Party from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. March 17. About 250 people are expected under the tent. Irish folk music and classic rock will be played, and Irish food and drinks sold.

• McCabe's Irish Pub & Grill will open at 8:30 a.m. on March 13, the day of the Naples St. Patrick's parade. The pub will hold a party starting at 9 a.m. March 17.
