You've probably heard the old saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." In today's world, this saying may be more relevant than ever.
While it is the parents' responsibility to be the main teachers of their children, few parents can do this task completely alone.
With this in mind, Solomon Lutheran School is preparing for its 2010 Fund Drive Kickoff from 7 to 10 p.m. March 6.
This year's theme, "Together We Can," illustrates the partnership among home, school, church and the community.
When these four elements work in unison, it helps to create a challenging and rewarding educational experience for the students of Solomon Lutheran School, while helping them to keep Christ as the center of their lives.
This annual campaign, which supports many academic programs, faculty salaries, physical operating costs and assistance for those in financial need, remains a primary way in which Solomon families can join together to help the school.
Throughout last year, $41,000 was contributed. This year, the goal is to raise $45,000.
This year's event will feature the big band music of The Swingsters.
If you haven't mailed your fund drive donation yet, bring it with you to the kickoff.
Enjoy an evening of delicious food with buffet dining and dancing.
Do you feel as if you have two left feet? If so, a dance instructor will be available to teach you a few dance moves.
This is a wonderful way to come together with friends in a spirit of celebration and commitment to Solomon Lutheran School.
No tickets are necessary; babysitting will be provided.
