NIGHT LIFE: WEDNESDAY-SATURDAY, Feb. 24-27

Coors Light Birds Nest
After all the rowdiness on the green at the Waste Management Phoenix Open ends, the partying, boozing and live music at the Birds Nest begins. The giant patio and party tent features a live act on a massive revolving stage each night. Salty Senorita's will be featuring a big patio with cold Mexican beers and margaritas, and there will also be a cushy V.I.P. section with cabanas for all the high rollers.

MUSIC: THURSDAY, Feb. 25

O.A.R.
These heavy-touring jam-rock veterans have earned enough buzz on the noodle-dance circuit to accurately call an album "Live From Madison Square Garden." That makes them the marquee name at the FBR Open's Bird's Nest party tent, sharing a bill with Duck Soup.

Details: 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. FBR Open Bird's Nest, Bell Road and 8nd St., Scottsdale. $25. fbropen.com.

EVENTS: SATURDAY-SUNDAY, Feb. 27-28

Matsuri Japanese Festival
Taiko drumming groups, martial-arts groups, an expected crowd of 80,000 and more will fill the Heritage and Science Park. This year's theme is the Maneki Neko, or lucky cat - a waving feline that some may recognize as the cute white cat that sometimes greets customers at Japanese businesses or restaurants.

Details: 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Heritage and Science Park, 115 N. Sixth St. Phoenix. FREE. 602-262-5029, azmatsuri.org.

Scottish Highland Games
A two-day celebration of all things Celtic - music and dancing and dramatic athletic contests - is this weekend at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix. Tempe's Four Peaks Brewery will be selling its appropriately named Kilt Lifter beer.

Details: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Steele Indian School Park, 300 E. Indian School Road. $5-$15. 602-431-0095, arizonascots.com.
