What with the Super Bowl ending the football season and NASCAR revving up its season, with baseball just around the corner and, oh yeah, that winter sports thing going on with our neighbors to the north, it just makes me want to get out and boogie.

Well, here's where we can go.
Port Angeles
• On Friday, two classic rock and blues bands are going to mix it up at the Junction Roadhouse, junction of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 112 five miles west of Port Angeles, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Andy Koch and Badd Dog Blues Society will be joined by Tim Halpin and the Better Half in an acoustic blues event that will get you movin' and a groovin' whether on the dance floor or on your stool or in your chair. Get there early 'cuz it'll be an SRO show fer sure. $5 cover.
On Sunday, Barry Burnett invites you to come out early and dance to a variety of music during the open mic jam from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
On Wednesday, The Good Medicine Band with Jason, Ches and Justin play from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
• Country rock maestro Jimmy Hoffman and his band will rock Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
This country band has the usual lead guitar, bass and drums but adding a keyboard on one side and a fiddle on the other raises this band above your average band. $3 cover.
• At Wine on the Waterfront, 115 Railroad Ave., on Saturday night enjoy the Coltrane/Davis inspired jazz stylings of the Bluenotes from 7:30 $5 cover.
• Charlie Ferris returns to Kokopelli's next Wednesday with his Memories and Melodies Show from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• On Friday night, the Veela Café, 133 E. First St., has Jim Lind providing both rock and country, fast and slow, from his impressive repertoire, from 7:30.
• Chuck Grall will be hosting the acoustic jam Tuesday at the Fairmount Restaurant, on U.S. Highway 101 west of Port Angeles, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., while Dave and Rosalie Secord of Luck of the Draw Band are on the road with their music.
Joyce
• Hank Jernigan is hosting an acoustic jam at the Crescent Grange, 507634 state Highway 112, Saturday at 6 p.m. following a harmonica workshop at 5 p.m. For more details call Hank at 360-460-7052.
Sequim and Blyn
• Skidder Hill plays bluegrass, old-time and country Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Oasis Sports Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St.
• At The Buzz, 128 N. Sequim Ave., Kelly Thomas hosts the very popular open mic Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• On Friday, Denny Secord Jr. goes acoustic at Stymies Bar and Grill at Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, for your dining pleasure from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You've seen Denny with his band, Haywire; now see him up close and personal.
• Tonight at Club Seven Lounge at 7 Cedars Casino, Blyn, the Jimmy Hoffman Band -- all five pieces -- will get you on the dance floor from 7 to 11 with a mix of classic rock and classic country with contemporary country and country originals.
On Friday and Saturday, enjoy the rhythm and blues of the New Blues Brothers from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
On Sunday, a Club 7 favorite, the Funaddicts, will have you laughin', dancin' and enjoyin' their fun-filled show from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Monday, the No Inhibitions jazz band will give you your Monday jazz fix in high style from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Port Hadlock
• Tonight at the Ajax Café, 271 Water St., Buzz Rogowski plays jazz and originals on piano from 6.
On Friday, Ahmad Baabahar combines his honest, gritty and soulful vocals with his blues, folk, funk, and rhythm and blues guitar styling into a rich brew for the senses, from 6 p.m.
On Saturday, Port Angeles' Barry Burnett and Cindy Lauder perform acoustic rock, folk and powerful blues from 6 p.m.
On Sunday, Jim Nyby plays blues, ballads, jazz and soul from 5:30 p.m.
Port Townsend
• Noted guitarist Eldon Sleight sings his original, hard-edged songs tonight at The Upstage, 923 Washington St., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Joining Sleight will be Bill Shepard and Nature Lyndsay. $5 cover.
On Saturday, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year and Female Blues Vocalist of the Year winner Janiva Magness sings the blues from 8 p.m. $25 cover.
On Sunday, Janiva returns for another concert at 7 p.m., so if you missed Saturday's show you have a second chance. $25 cover.
The Penultimate Sunday Jazz Jam got bumped up to 2 p.m. because of the evening concert, so jammers take note. $3 cover, jammers no charge.

• Sirens, 823 Water St., hosts Southern Skies, an acoustic Americana country folk duo, on Friday at 9 p.m. $5.
On Saturday, The Bell Boys and the Villains play from 9 p.m. $5.
On Sunday, Brandon Stanley entertains at 8 p.m.
• On Saturday at Water Street Brewing, 639 Water St., you have another chance to catch the Americana country folk duo, Southern Skies, playing from 8 p.m. Cover.
• Eldon Sleight and Bill Shepard perform originals Friday at Better Living Through Coffee, 100 Tyler St., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Prolific Seattle songwriter Ian McFeron performs Saturday night at the Boiler Room, 711 Water St., from 8 p.m.
McFeron (vocals, guitar, piano) will be joined by Alisa Milner, a Texas-style fiddler, cellist and harmony vocalist.
• There's music at the Uptown, 1016 Lawrence St., this weekend, with Simon Lynge entertaining Friday at 9 p.m., $5, and singer/songwriter Jake Archer in the spotlight Saturday from 8 p.m. $5.
• On Saturday, Olympic Peninsula Dance presents Seattle's Sky Blue Trio at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
They play all the classic dance tunes from the Lindy Hop to jitterbug. Adults $15, students with ID and those with disabilities $10, 12 and under $7.
A pre-dance lesson is at 7 p.m.
Music news
• The Bruce Cowan Quartet plays for the second annual Art with Heart Auction to benefit Port Townsend's schools Saturday at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431Water St..
Ninety pieces of art are up for bid in both silent and live auctions.
Tickets are $35 and may be purchased in advance by calling Beth Juran at 360-531-1244; also available at the door.
